As you know, a lot of time and money is invested by both parties in negotiating and drafting the terms of a contract or lease.  However, many times after the contract or lease is finalized the parties can many times neglect to properly communicate to their respective accounting departments the complex monetary terms and conditions that have been agreed to and the timeframes or circumstances to look out for that will provide savings to the company.  In addition to that with everyone needing additional time to get through their daily tasks, people’s responsibilities changing or people moving on to other opportunities and/or company’s restructuring can create additional opportunities for profits to be lost.  Many times when a person is replaced if there is no known problems with their process the new person will simply assume the prior person’s process without deeply familiarizing themselves with the terms and conditions of the agreement.   Many times this can create a missed price change or discount, unreturned security or any number of other monetary issues.  Unfortunate the new person is following the old saying “if it ain’t broke – don’t fix it” which may work for some things but not today’s complex agreements!  It is important to understand and appreciate that the obstacles your supplier / landlord faces each day are no similar to the obstacles that your organization faces.  Working with BC Compliance can help your organization overcome these obstacles without any additional financial responsibilities unless we provide you with financial benefits!

Many of the inaccuracies we find tend to be inadvertent mistakes that have simply gone unnoticed do to any number of reasons.  It is for this reason that in working through an audit we take a non-confrontational approach.  We work with the parties involved to discuss the conceptual merits of the issue(s) before assigning any dollar values.  Depending upon the magnitude of the issue(s) – a dollar amount can and in many instances will slow down or stop the successful progression of an audit.  Discussing and agreeing on the concept first removes this obstacle and allows the parties to reasonably discuss the facts.
